Photos & Video: Work Underway On NSC Track
Contractors have started prepping and applying the polyurethane levelling material to the surface of the 400-metre running track at the National Sports Centre.
The original track was laid in 2001/2002 and has fallen into disrepair and with the NSC due to host the Carifta Games in April, a decision was made to have it resurfaced.
Craig Tyrrell, the NSC’s Operations Manager, said the work involves pouring the polyurethane levelling material and applying a proprietary chemical prime onto the track surface and then adding the Resilient Wear layer and finishing with the necessary track markings.
“Along with the refurbishing work on the grandstand, which has now finished, the Centre is going to look fantastic when we host the Carifta Games,” he said.
