[Updated] The Ministry of Tourism and Transport advised the that “due to the U.S. Federal Aviation Administration’s [FAA] New York Air Traffic Control Center temporarily suspending aircraft approach and departure control services, air traffic is presently unable to operate in Bermuda’s airspace.”

“This service, which is essential for flights to safely arrive and depart from Bermuda, has resulted in the cancellation of today’s Delta Air Lines and WestJet flights, departing for Bermuda from Atlanta and Toronto respectively, being cancelled.” a government spokesperson said.

“It must be noted that Bermuda’s air traffic control services, provided by the Airport Authority, are 100% operational. However, in order for flights to depart for Bermuda, both services must be in operation. Further updates will be provided as they are available.”

In addition, Skyport’s latest website update said, “The Delta flight scheduled for Sunday, March 22 has been cancelled along with the WestJet flight to Toronto. All other commercial flights in and out of Bermuda are suspended for two weeks as of 11:59pm Friday, March 20, 2020.”
