Force Red Wins Youth Futsal Mini League
The Youth Futsal Mini League hosted by Footy Promotions has concluded, with the Force Red crowned as the overall champions.
A spokesperson said, “Footy Promotions / Footy Force Futsal hosted the Youth Futsal Mini League for 8-12-year-old [boys and girls] at the CedarBridge Academy Gymnasium, which saw 53 youth players drafted to 7 teams by color.
“Force Red are the crowned Champions of the Youth Futsal Mini League with 31 points and 34 goals scored. Force Red’s team members were:
- Samar Augustus
- Harlem Bean-Fox
- Jamarion Dill
- Kruz Iris
- Amir Johnson
- Rajee Knight
- Xion Smith
“Force Red’s Harlem Bean-Fox was also crowned Leading Goal-Scorer with 16 goals to help his team win the league.
“The Most Valuable Player went to Force Yellow’s Masaki Kitade. His team placed second in the league.”
Vinzie Zuill, President of Footy Promotions/Footy Force says, “It was exciting to host the Youth Futsal Mini League. We were exceptionally happy with the participation. The league began with a draft selection process, in which players anxiously watched their names being called and assigned to teams. It was the first time that we have held a futsal draft for players.
“The teams then went on to compete in a 4-week league that was played on Sundays. The games were very competitive and exciting with an average of 40 goals scored each week. The players adapted well to playing with others that they would not usually have a chance to play with.
“Well done to all the youth players that participated as they have set the tone for more leagues to come. The players did not hold back when showcasing their skills, they showed great sportsmanship and played with passion.
“Congratulations to Force Red, they were very consistent with their performances. Special mention to Harlem Bean-Fox [Force Red] who led the league on goals and Masaki Kitade [Force Yellow] for earning the Most valuable Player award.
“It was evident to see that futsal is growing in Bermuda! It was also great to see families, representatives of football clubs and fans come out and support the youth players. Futsal continues April 25, 2020 with our Footy Force Futsal program which includes an end of season tournament. All players [5-15 years old - boys and girls] are invited to participate.”
