Legal Battle Over Grundy’s Fortune Settled
Almost four years after the passing of TV mogul and Bermuda resident Reg Grundy, the legal battle over his $900 million fortune has been settled.
The report on the Daily Mail said, “The bitter legal battle over TV mogul Reg Grundy’s $900million fortune has finally come to an end.
“Mr Grundy’s widow Carolyn Joy Chambers-Grundy and estranged daughter Viola La Valette have been trading blows over the money since he died aged 92 in 2016.
“His daughter was claiming her father had suffered Alzheimer’s during his final years which caused him to reduce how much money he left her in the will.
“The two hadn’t seen each other for 22 years before Mr Grundy’s death.
“But the pair have reached a confidential settlement over the funds, bringing an end to the three-year long battle at the New South Wales Supreme Court, according to the Daily Telegraph.
“The Neighbours creator left behind assets worth $800 million overseas and $71 million in Australia when he died in 2016.
“Nearly all of that went to his second wife, former actor Carolyn Joy Chambers Grundy.
“His daughter Viola La Valette, born to first wife Patricia La Powell, was allocated yearly payments of $250,000.”
