Online Condolence Book For Stanley Lowe
To honour the memory of Mr. Stanley Lowe, who passed away on Sunday [April 26], the Government of Bermuda is inviting the public to sign an online condolence ‘book’ which will be presented to his family.
A Government spokesperson said, “The online memories and condolences page can be found here.
“Mr. Stanley Lowe, OBE, JP, served as a Member of Parliament from 1968 until his retirement in 2012, having served as Opposition Whip for most of his term in Opposition. He was selected as Deputy Speaker in 1995 before becoming the first black Speaker of the House of Assembly in1998. He served in that role till his retirement in 2012.
“As a member of the Parliamentary ‘Class of 68’, Mr. Lowe formed part of the anchor of Bermuda’s modern political history and served the people of his beloved Southampton East for 44 years.”
