Police: ‘You Are Advised To Not Share Them’
Noting that members of the public have been circulating images of the victim and the accused in a sexual offences matter that is before the courts, the police have reminded the public that anyone sharing these images “will be committing an offence.”
A police spokesperson said, “The Bermuda Police Service [BPS] has been made aware that members of the public have been circulating images of both the victim and the accused in a sexual offences matter that is now before the courts.
“Members of the public are advised that anyone producing or sharing these image to identify either the accused, or the victim in an ongoing sexual offences matter will be committing an offence under Section 329 C of the Criminal Code.
“Anyone found guilty of doing so, is subject to a fine of ten thousand dollars [$10,000.00].
“Should you receive the images being circulated, you are advised to not share them in any way and instead, delete them from your device.”
