Armbands At Bacardi Building To Show Solidarity
Bacardi has placed black armbands around the trees of their building in Hamilton, saying they are a “symbol of support for our black employees, partners, friends and collaborators,” and the company stands in “solidarity with the movement towards racial justice.”
A spokesperson told Bernews, “At Bacardi, we advocate for diversity, equality, justice and freedom. The black armbands around the palm trees of our global headquarters are a symbol of support for our black employees, partners, friends and collaborators, and of our commitment to do what’s right to drive meaningful change.
“Our company’s purpose is ‘to bring people together to celebrate moments that matter.’ This is no time for celebration, but it is a defining moment that matters for society and our company. Today, we proudly march alongside our Bacardi family and our community in solidarity with the movement towards racial justice.”
