Female Assaulted By ‘Group Of Individuals’
[Updated] A 33-year-old female was assaulted in the Cedar Hill Warwick area, with the police saying “she was set upon by a group of unknown individuals brandishing at least one machete.”
A police spokesperson said, “Around 10:50pm 19th June, police responded to a report of a serious assault on a 33-year-old female in the Cedar Hill, Warwick area.
“Details are limited at this time, however it was initially reported that the victim was in the yard of a private residence, when she was set upon by a group of unknown individuals brandishing at least one machete.
“The victim was then conveyed to KEMH for treatment of her injuries which are deemed to be serious.
“The scene was processed by forensic officers and an investigation has commenced.
“Anyone who may have seen persons in the area acting suspiciously or has information to assist police, we are asking that you call 211 or the confidential Crimestoppers number 800-8477.”
Update 12.52pm: The woman is now listed in critical condition in the ICU with the police saying she “sustained multiple life threatening injuries in an unprovoked machete attack during a home invasion.”
A police spokesperson said, “A thirty three-year old woman is now listed in critical condition in the Intensive Care Unit of the King Edward VII Memorial Hospital, having sustained multiple life threatening injuries in an unprovoked machete attack during a home invasion, which occurred shortly before 11:00 p.m. on Friday 19th June, in the Cedar Hill area of Warwick.
“The victim was reportedly in the yard of a private residence when she was attacked by a group of unknown individuals brandishing at least one machete.
“The scene was processed by officers from the Forensics Unit and an investigation has commenced.
“Investigators are appealing for anyone with information on this brutal attack against the thirty-year old woman to please contact Detective Sergeant Dean Martin on 717-2074 or 247-1739. You may also call 211, the main police number 295-0011 or of course, the independent and confidential Crime Stoppers number, 800-8477.
“Any information, no matter how insignificant you think it may be, could prove useful in bringing those responsible for this cruel and abhorrent act to justice.”
This is getting out of hand, when will Gov step up to prevent these things from happening.
