Covid-19: 259 Test Results, None Were Positive
There were 259 test results received today and none were positive for Covid-19, so Bermuda has a total of 150 total confirmed positive cases to date, with four of the cases being currently active.
A Government spokesperson said, “Today there were 259 test results received by the Ministry of Health, and none were positive for Covid-19.
“Bermuda has 150 total confirmed positive cases. Their status is as follows:
- there are 4 active cases, who are
- all under active public health monitoring, and
- none is hospitalized or in critical care;
- a total of 137 have recovered, and
- the total deceased remains 9.
“The average age of all of our confirmed positive cases is 60 and the age range of all of our positive cases is from 18 to 101 years.
“The average age of all deceased cases is 74 and the age range is 57 to 91 years.
“The source of all local cases is as follows:
- 46 are Imported
- 85 are Local transmission, with known contact
- 18 are Local transmission with an unknown contact, and
- 1 is under investigation
“Bermuda’s country status is “Sporadic Cases”. The seven-day average of our real time reproduction number is below 1.”

Transparency please. How many were new tests from incoming flights; how many were 3 or 7 day retests from past incoming flights; how many were local tests etc. Is there some reason for the secrecy? Yes it’s great to have no positives, but show you have the public’s interests at heart. Be honest and provide more information.
On Thursday when hopefully a reporter will ask the question, I don’t want to hear the Minister respond with her usual ‘I don’t have that information”. It is far more relevant that the “R” is below 1 because with no new positives of course it is. So many of the questions raised in the updates are totally irrelevant and nothing to do with the pandemic.
