Latest Covid-19 Test Results Expected Today

July 18, 2020

“We are unable to provide full details of today’s test results, as they are still being processed,” the Ministry said last night, adding that they will release the statistics today [July 18].

In a statement last night, the Ministry said, “Due to the aggressive testing regime established by the Government, all designed to quickly identify and isolate COVID-19 cases to protect our island home, we are unable to provide full details of today’s test results, as they are still being processed.

“However, we must emphasize the importance of following public health guidelines, particularly recently arrived travellers who are under self-quarantine, to remain in your accommodation until you receive a negative test result.

“We are aware that some people have not yet received their results. This has been due to a technical problem with an external mail server, however we are working through that issue and persons are receiving their results now.

“We remind the public that yesterday our active cases stand at 6. These are all in isolation and their contacts are being traced. Nevertheless, we cannot be too careful and we ask the whole community to take preventive measures, wear your masks in public places, wash your hands and maintain physical distance from others.

“We will release today’s statistics tomorrow afternoon.”

Update 8.20pm: It’s not really an update per se, just a note to say we are awaiting the results.

Update 8.55pm: The Government has tweeted the results and updated the Government website. We will have a new story up momentarily.

Update 9.05pm: The new story is here. In summary, one new positive, 11 pending.

Or the family that went straight to one place from the airport… posted to their Facebook and insta… same cloths and all

  2. James says:

Rumours are lots of positive even before BA landed with 300 people.

  3. Raskarr says:

Government propaganda! They know but they’re not telling us! I think a major outbreak is occurring.

  4. Billy Bob says:

And remember, they only expect to catch 75% of the cases. So when they announce 15, it’s really 20. And five of them will be hovering next to you in the supermarket. Pretty soon, we’ll be just like Florida or London.

  5. Dirk Gentley says:

No test results from yesterday and the BA flight… the silence is deafening.

  6. Allan says:

All the praise fir good work is being reversed in ond weekend, when they think we will sleep better not knowing. I can appreciate they would rather give a full report than bits or random, but for Pete’s sake we are grown up and do not accept being treated like a child. On top of all the weekend “guess” news, with still people allowed to fly here without a pre-test, we have the end of curfew! Hand me a nail gun so we can get the coffin sealed faster.
