TLC’s Privacy Officer Course Recognized

July 1, 2020

The Office of the Privacy Commissioner for Bermuda said they recognise the TLC Group’s “Privacy Officer Foundation” and “Privacy Officer Practitioner” courses as “providing training that is appropriate to the knowledge, skills, and abilities needed for an individual to perform the duties of a Privacy Officer under the Personal Information Protection Act 2016 [PIPA].”

“The TLC Group’s “Privacy Officer Foundation” course covers the legal grounds and concepts relating to PIPA and other nations’ privacy laws, and the “Privacy Officer Practitioner” course instructs participants in the specific skills and abilities to implement a privacy program,” a spokesperson said.

“Both courses include a guided work experience competent, providing potential Privacy Officers with the opportunity to test and grow their skills through experiential learning.

“The TLC Group is the first training provider recognised by PrivCom as providing appropriate Privacy Officer training. We make special note that the company is Bermuda-based and that their course goes beyond international best practices to train specifically to PIPA. While developing the course, The TLC Group engaged with PrivCom and subsequently provided the Office with access to the final materials for review.
