BWAC Jr Anglers Back To School Give-A-Way
Blue Waters Anglers Club held a Back to School Give-A-Way, presenting school supplies and vouchers for school clothes to 50 young school children who participated in the 2019 Junior Angler Tournament.
A spokesperson said, “The Blue Waters Anglers Club can boast the longest running Junior Angler Tournament which dates back to the early nineteen sixties. The Annual Tournament provides the opportunity to participate in the joys of angling to young boys and girls who otherwise would not have the opportunity. After each Tournament the young anglers are treated to a Prize Giving Barbecue and all are presented with a Back to School Back Pack with School Supplies.
“Due to the current pandemic and the challenges with social distancing amongst young people, the BWAC Executive had to make the hard decision to cancel this year’s Junior Angler Tournament.
“However these young anglers were not forgotten, especially with the financial strife that has been inflicted on many families due to Covid-19 Pandemic. On Saturday 22nd August BWAC organized a Back to School Give-A-Away to assist with the approximately 50 Junior Anglers and their families during these challenging times.
“The Back to School Give-A-Away was carried out with Social Distancing in mind. The young anglers and their parents/guardians did a drive-in to the front of the BWAC located on 28 Crow Lane [East Broadway] and were presented with a Back Pack filled with Back to School Supplies, Water Bottle, Key Holding Lanyard, Bottled Water, Bottled Flavored Water, Bottled Juice and Bagged Chips. In addition they were given a $75 Gift Voucher to assist with the purchase of School Clothes.
