Covid-19: 501 Test Results, None Were Positive

There were 501 test results received today and none were positive for COVID-19, so the total of confirmed positive cases remains at 157, with 4 cases remaining active.

A Government spokesperson said, “Today there were 501 test results received by the Ministry of Health, and none were positive for COVID-19.

“Bermuda has 157 total confirmed positive cases. Their status is as follows:

  • there are now 4 active cases, who are
  • all under active public health monitoring, and
  • none is hospitalized or in critical care;
  • a total of 144 have recovered,
  • the total deceased remains 9, and

“The average age of all of our confirmed positive cases is 59 and the age range of all of our positive cases is from 18 to 101 years.

“The source of all local cases is as follows:

  • 53 are Imported
  • 85 are Local transmission, with known contact
  • 19 are Local transmission with an unknown contact, and
  • none are under investigation

“Bermuda’s country status is “Sporadic Cases”. The seven-day average of our real time reproduction number is less than 1.”

    This gets more and more scary. The Minister has no idea how many are tourists or returning residents or retests, and apparently doesn’t care. The Government is seeking more staff because of the increased number of tests which mean the existing staff are overworked and therefore liable to not test properly.
    The Minister announces a new model for the number of deaths which like the first is clearly wrong. Just accepts the report without question. Still repeats the R is under 1, when clearly it is 0.
    Tests are not 100% accurate and we have a Minister who reads from a prepared script and has no information when asked simple questions.
    The only smart thing she says is wear a mask, and wash your hands because the virus is here, but not yet detected.
