Residents Warned: Fake Social Media Messages
The Government is once again urging people to ignore social media messages impersonating Government Ministers.
A Government spokesperson said, “Residents are once again urged to ignore persistent social media messages from unknown individuals impersonating Government Ministers.
“One of the latest examples is a fake social media profile – bearing the likeness of Deputy Premier and Minister of Home Affairs the Hon. Walter Roban – sending harassing messages to locals claiming ‘The U.N. is willing to give every individual at least $30,000 against the pandemic … We have our personal agent in charge of the grant cash. I can send you his link so you can text him and claim yours.’
“Such messages are not legitimate and should not be responded to.
