Update From Bermuda Pride 2020 Organisers

The Bermuda Pride Organising Team released an update on their plans for this Saturday.

A spokesperson said, “Unfortunately, we still have not received approval from the Minister of National Security for our candlelit moment of reflection this Saturday, the 8th of August. We fully appreciate many of you would like to know whether or not this event is going ahead and promise to let you know the minute we’ve heard from the Minister.

“In the meantime, here’s what we can tell you:

“Provided we receive permission from the Minister before 12 noon this Friday, the 7th of August, the event will commence at 8:30pm on Saturday, the 8th of August, in a central location. The event will last for no more than 30 minutes and all attendees will be asked to:

  • Wear a face mask,
  • Respect physical distancing.
  • Bring a candle [with appropriate protection for your hands].

“So do keep a close eye on them. Thank you for your understanding during these unprecedented times.”
