Gurret Donates Butterflies For “Butterfly Blast”
Local artist Nicky Gurret has donated her kaleidoscope of 250 blue butterflies to the Friends Of Hospice for their ”Butterfly Blast” event which is set to be held later this month.
Ms Gurret is the creator of the current blue butterfly kaleidoscope installation titled “Transformation” at the Crow Lane roundabout.
She has given many hours of volunteer service to the Friends of Hospice over the years such as their annual raffle appeal, “Memorial Moon Walk”, “Duck Derby”, art workshops for day residents of Agape House and their “Hats and High Tea” event.
A new Friends of Hospice event called “Butterfly Blast” will take place at Victoria Park on 12th September noon-4pm with family fun activities, food stalls, and live performances from various musical groups including the all female percussion band Coral Beats, of which Ms Gurret is a member.
Ms Gurret has donated her kaleidoscope of 250 blue butterflies to the Friends of Hospice, saying that she hopes the proceeds of the sale will go to this worthwhile charity which supports Agape House and the needed hospice care in Bermuda.
She added that she is hoping that many people will come to this free fun event and that all her individually hand crafted butterflies made of aluminium with steel stakes and stainless steel wire will all be sold out.
