New Version Of Bermuda Reef App Released
The Bermuda Reef Life HD has recently been updated, with the app “featuring some 300 high definition images divided into 15 sections showcasing the beauty and diversity of Bermuda beneath the surface.”
A spokesperson said, “Building from the success of the previous version of his Reef Life app, Ron Lucas’ latest update for the free android version of the app features images in high definition, a new section on corals, a few additional or replacement photos and a new scrolling Reef Identification feature to assist users to quickly identify fishes, corals etc.

“The publishers of the app are the Bermuda Zoological Society and the Atlantic Conservation Partnership, the not for profit organizations that support the Bermuda Aquarium, Museum and Zoo. All underwater images have been donated by Bermudian underwater photographer Ron Lucas.
“My aim is to inspire all Bermuda residents with appreciation for the beauty and diversity of our underwater reef system so that it is protected and might be enjoyed by present and future generations,” said Ron Lucas, creator of the app.

“Now in its 3rd edition, Bermuda Reef Life HD is a comprehensive underwater photo app featuring some 300 high definition images divided into 15 sections showcasing the beauty and diversity of Bermuda beneath the surface.
“Descriptions on each photo are revealed by tapping on the screen. In addition, a Reef Species Identification Section allows immediate access to thumbnails with titles so marine enthusiasts can readily identify species and then jump to the full-size photos with descriptions.
“Persons with iPads and iPhones can download the free five-star iOS version of the app which has similar features from the App Store.

Each year the BZS more than 8,000 free educational experiences through our Stempel Foundation-BZS Schools Programme in addition to popular community programmes for all ages, development of BAMZ exhibits, and conservation and research programmes. Each year, BZS Volunteers contribute over 10,000 hours of valuable husbandry support to the Aquarium and Zoo with all programmes being accredited by the Association of Zoos and Aquariums.”
