AXA XL End-To-End To Take Place Tomorrow

October 23, 2020

More than 400 people have registered for tomorrow’s AXA End-to-End – and it’s still not too late to register.

“I’m delighted that so many people have signed up,” said AXA End-to-End Chair, Anne Mello. “It is different this year due to Covid-19, but it still important to raise money for charities, so I give my thanks to those who are taking part.”

Because of Covid-19 requirements there are no official start and finish times, or locations and the walk or cycle participants can choose a start point anywhere along the route that is convenient. The event will take place from 7am to 1pm and there will be water stops along the way.

The four charities being supported this year are the Bermuda Zoological Society, Vision Bermuda, the Garden Club of Bermuda and The Family Centre.

The Garden Club of Bermuda will use funding from the AXA End-to-End for its Skills Development Programme, which helps young Bermudians interested in horticulture.

The BZS will use the funds for its schools’ programme. Vision Bermuda will use the funds to advance its efforts to help those who are blind or have a vision impairment. The Family Centre will use the donation to help strengthen families through improved family communication and to teach problem-solving skills to create better home environments.

Ms Mello added: “There are so many people to thank for making the event happen on Saturday – all the organisers and the volunteers, as well as our tremendous sponsors who have stuck by us during these complicated times.” The Title sponsor is AXA XL and the event’s Platinum Sponsors are Butterfield Bank and Deloitte.

The AXA End-to-End event office at the Botanical Gardens will be open until 12 noon on Saturday and people can register or donate here.
