BTA Chief Sales/Marketing Officer To Step Down
[Updated] Victoria Isley will step down as the Bermuda Tourism Authority’s Chief Sales & Marketing Officer, effective November 30, 2020.
“Victoria Isley’s contributions to Bermuda’s tourism industry are mammoth and will be missed,” said Stephen Todd, Deputy Chair of the BTA Board of Directors.
“On behalf of the BTA Board, its staff and, indeed, the island’s hospitality industry as a whole, we offer our sincere gratitude to Vic for her almost seven years of service as Chief Sales & Marketing Officer.
“Her passion for Bermuda is palpable and that sparkles through in her work as a creative strategist, promoting the island so effectively around the world. We have no doubt Vic’s next career move will be filled with much success; we wish her well in her future endeavours.
“The Board of Directors will focus its attention on overseeing the recruitment of a new chief sales & marketing officer, while at the same time, solidifying the organisation’s next Chief Executive Officer.”
Update Oct 16, 9.48am: Ms. Isley said, ““It has been an absolute honour and privilege to be part of the Bermuda Tourism Authority team over the last six-and-a-half years.
“I’m proud of the collective work and results we have delivered for Bermuda—from my early days joining a small bid team to win the America’s Cup for Bermuda to introducing the island to a new generation of traveler and boosting vacation air arrivals.
“The island and people will always hold a special place in my heart, and I wish the collective community and tourism industry well in its recovery. Bermuda deserves to shine.”

It’s way past time! I found her to be controversial and confrontational in all meetings I had with her! Not what the BTA needed and not worth our money! Good bye!
Oh so your feelings were hurt because she actually knew what she is doing and you don’t?
I agree! I had 2 meetings with her and she never looked up from her iPhone! Just rude and not engaging!
Did she expect everyone to do their jobs? I hate that it is a sign of rudeness.
Its about time!!!. Making way more than she was worth. Looking at the level of marketing she brought to the BTA. Fact is the BTA was and has been spending way too much of its budget on marketing instead of investing more into product and experience. How can we market a low class product and expect to see results. BTA going forward let’s be smarter about where we focus our energies and money. A great product will market itself through personal experience….then you can enhance the product by marketing. Now is the time to rethink and be strategic. (PS perhaps her salary could now offset the struggling employees wages and benefits that had been slashed during this pandemic.) oops there I go again thinking out loud.
