Video: BNV Interview With FDM Members

Some of the Free Democratic Movement [FDM] members are joining Bernews this afternoon [Oct 15] for the latest episode in the Bernews News & Views series, set to discuss the recent election and their plans going forward.

The FDM, which was formed just weeks before the 2020 General Election, fielded 14 candidates in total. The newly formed party did not win any seats, however won 1384 votes [5.37% of the popular vote] in total. Dr Christina Storey [C33] earned the most votes of any FDM candidate with 202, and in three areas the FDM earned more than the OBA: Marc Bean [C36] Eugene Dean [C34] and Desmond Crockwell [C5].

    the FDM say that they are not a political party but a movement
    then why would you run in an election if you are not a political party

      Don’t be so literal. They are differentiating themselves from regular political parties and politicians – which they have repeatedly stated are known for saying one thing and doing another and not really representing the publics interests and needs. The FDM is a movement because they are distinctly different than any existing political party. They have built themselves up with known community orientated persons providing REAL representation.
