Donation Made To PGA Event Volunteers
MP Zane DeSilva made a donation to 19 young Bermudians who assisted with the valet parking at the recently held PGA Golf Tournament, saying he appreciated their “long hours and relentless dedication.”
A spokesperson said, “Zane DeSilva, Member of Parliament for Constituency 29 Southampton East, made a donation to young men and women who acted as ambassadors and supported the successful PGA Golf Tournament held at Port Royal Golf Club October 29 – November 1, 2020.”
Mr DeSilva said, “Appreciating the long hours and relentless dedication of 19 young Bermudians who assisted with the valet parking for the event I was compelled to give them a token of my appreciation.
“As former Minister for Tourism, I know how important investing in Bermudians is to the fabric of our industry and decided to give them each $100 dollars as a token of my appreciation.”
“MP DeSilva was particularly impressed with two young Bermudians, 14-year-olds Alana Williams and her cousin Szaine Williams who were the youngest members of the team working from 6 am each day. MP Desilva was joined by group leader Daren Williams and C29 PLP Branch Chair Shawn Simons,” a spokesperson said.
