BPS Confirm: 18-Year-Old Dies Following Collision
The police have confirmed that an 18-year-old male has died following a collision in Sandys this morning [Nov 8].
A police spokesperson said, “Bermuda has recorded its 6th road traffic fatality following a two vehicle collision in Sandy’s Parish.
“At around 9:24 a.m. today, Sunday 8th November, police received a report of a serious two vehicle traffic collision involving a car and a bike on Somerset Road, Sandy’s in the area of Morgan Hill.
“Officers and other first responders attended the scene where they found an eighteen-year-old male motorcycle rider, who had suffered a serious head injury and was unresponsive.
“He was transported via ambulance to King Edward VII Memorial Hospital, where he was subsequently pronounced dead by a medical doctor.
“Both vehicles were extensively damaged, however the female driver of the car was not injured in the collision.
“The incident resulted in major traffic delays as the roadway way was closed off while Traffic Collision Investigators and officers from the Forensic Support Unit processed the scene.
