Tennis: MTM Masters Invitational 2020 Final
The Manders Tennis Management Masters Invitational recently came to an end at the Fairmont Southampton tennis courts, with Tariq Simons and Trey Mallory taking to the court.
The pair began a tension-filled match, with Simons calling for an umpire to oversee the match after a disputed call. Simons went on to win the first set 6-2.
The second set saw the pair battle even harder with the score at 4 – 4. Simons broke Mallory’s serve to take a 5 – 4 lead.
Simons then served for the match, but Mallory broke back to level the match at 5 – 5.
Simons once again broke Mallory’s serve to take a 6 – 5 lead, with yet another chance to serve for the match.
Mallory didn’t go down without a fight as he once again broke Simons’ serve to send the match into a tie-breaker locked at 6 – 6.
Simons then outlasted Mallory to claim the victory in the tie-breaker.
