P.A.L.S. Fair Cancelled, But You Can Still Donate

December 1, 2020

P.A.L.S. has cancelled their annual Holiday Fair, and the charity is asking people who would have attended the fair to please consider making a donation instead.

A spokesperson said, “It is with deep regret but also very careful consideration of our community, our patients and our frontline workers that P.A.L.S. has made the difficult decision to cancel the 40th Annual Holiday Fair.

“P.A.L.S. is Bermuda’s only home cancer care charity. We receive no government grants and rely solely on events such as this, but we also take the well-being of our community very seriously.

“Knowing how hard hit charities were during this period, P.A.L.S. did not request any assistance from the Covid-19 Emergency Fund. However, our specialized clinical staff continued to support our patients and families during the lockdown. Cancer does not take a break and neither do we.

“We treated our patients [virtually when possible] or in person in full PPE when necessary. With this in mind, we would like to request that if you would have attended our fair that you please consider making a donation instead. We truly appreciate our supporters and donors especially during 2020 when cancer has not been at the forefront of people’s minds.
