Photos: Dr Grundy Contest Age 15-18 Winners
The winners of the National Museum of Bermuda’s [NMB] annual Dr. Reg Grundy Youth Photography Competition have been named, with winners in the 15-18 Age Division including Layla Kurt, Micah Straw II, and Keijah Lee.
The contest sees students submit photos under themes including Bermuda Community, Bermuda Homes, and Bermuda Ecosystem in three age categories: 7-10, 11-14, and 15-18.
Winners received Iron Kids Accounts at Clarien Bank [amounts of $500, $300, and $200, based on age group], while runners up received $150 gift cards to Brown & Co. stores.
In the 15-18 Age Division, Layla Kurt of Bermuda High School for Girls won the Bermuda Ecosystem category as well as the Best in Show, winning not only a $500 Iron Kids account, but also a Nikon DSLR camera with 18-55mm and 55-300mm lenses, along with a camera bag.
Micah Straw II of Berkeley Institute won the Bermuda Community category, while Keijah Lee, also of Berkeley Institute, won the Bermuda Homes category.
Runners up in the division were Kian Mooney of Saltus Grammar School in the Bermuda Ecosystem category, Susana Guerreiro of CedarBridge Academy in the Bermuda Community category, and Kamaria Precious Easton of CedarBridge Academy in the Bermuda Homes category.
