Governor Rena Lalgie Visits Christ Church
Governor Rena Lalgie and the Deputy Governor visited Christ Church in Warwick yesterday [Jan 19] to show their appreciation for the volunteers involved in the Bermuda Overseas Mission Feeding Programme.
In an online post, Government House said, “Yesterday afternoon the Governor and the Deputy Governor were pleased to visit the Christ Church in Warwick to show their appreciation for volunteers involved in the Bermuda Overseas Mission Feeding Programme.
“Members of the Church anticipated the difficult times that the community would face during the Covid-19 lockdown and wished to aid in preparing and delivering meals to those greatly impacted by the lockdown and in need of food security.
“The Feeding Programme has provided over 50,000 meals across Bermuda since its inception and, with the help of a network of volunteers and donors, the Programme continues to distribute nearly 300 nutritious meals a day for six days out of the week.
“The Governor expressed her admiration of all involved and added that she is hugely grateful for the service that each and every one of the volunteers is providing to the community during such a difficult time.”
