Video: BTA Spotlights Spencer Field Beekeeping

January 18, 2021

In the first of a series featuring ‘BTA Harvest Heroes’ for the 2021 Restaurant Weeks, the Bermuda Tourism Authority highlighted Spencer Field of Passion Fields Beekeeping.

The BTA said, “Today we’re spotlighting Spencer Field of Passion Fields Beekeeping Ltd. He’s helping to restore our bee population while producing sweet, local honey.”

The BTA previously noted that locally caught and harvested food are the focus of this year’s Bermuda Restaurant Weeks, with restaurateurs urged “to create Bermuda-inspired menus and are particularly encouraged to focus on five local food-harvest areas: lobster, lionfish, goat cheese, honey and locally grown produce.”

The 2021 Restaurant Weeks runs from January 14 to February 11. Diners can expect three price tiers: $32, $42 and $52 for three-course, prix-fixe menus for dinner, and $22 two-course meals for lunch, and you can view the menus here on the BTA website.

Lived in Bda til 2017 when I sold my business (Bda Rentals) and retired and moved to South Carolina where I took up bee keeping; have several hives, but have had a terrible problem with Wax Moths. Knew Jock Steuart from Somerset who use to keep bees.
