Sam Williamson Wins Medals In Virtual Event
Sam Williamson was one of more than 16,200 swimmers from 430 clubs that took part in Swim England’s Virtual Level X Racing.
The opening event took place on October 23, with the event running through the end of December.
Swim England launched Level X Racing to give swimmers the opportunity to practice racing skills in their own club environments in the absence of competitions due to the coronavirus pandemic.
Williamson finished with three gold, a silver, and bronze medal.
The three gold medal performances came in the individual medley. Williamson picked up the gold medal in the 100m individual medley, touching the wall in a time of 59.38. He claimed the 200m individual medley gold as well with a time of 2:08.87, and his third gold medal came in the 400m individual medley as he clocked 4:34.02.
Williamson picked up the silver medal while competing in the 200m breaststroke with a time of 2:23.62, and the bronze medal came in the 1500m freestyle with a time of 17:07.30.
Williamson finished fourth in the 100m breaststroke with a time of 1:05.75, and he finished fifth in the 200m freestyle by touching the wall in a time of 1:56.78. He was seventh in the 400m freestyle, clocking 4:09.53, and he closed out by finishing in eighth in the 100m freestyle with a time of 53.68.
