Man Arrested For Possession Of Knife
A motorcycle rider who was stopped in Paget was arrested after being found to have a “knife with an approximately seven-inch blade in his possession” and “could not give a lawful reason for having the knife.”
A police spokesperson said, “At approximately 10:30am on Wednesday 17th February, 2021 police officers were on mobile patrol on Ord Road when they observed a motorcycle overtaking on the left side of a line of traffic.
“The rider was stopped and checks revealed he had outstanding warrants.
“He was arrested and conveyed to Hamilton Police Station.
“A subsequent search revealed he had a knife with an approximately seven-inch blade in his possession.
“When questioned, the suspect could not give a lawful reason for having the knife and was informed he could be charged for being in possession of a sharply pointed bladed article in a public place.
“A court appearance is anticipated in due course.”
