Minister of National Security Renee Ming “condemned yesterday afternoon’s violent knife attack which seriously injured a 16-year-old boy.”

A Government spokesperson said, “Minister Ming advised that she has been briefed by the Police about the incident that took place in the City of Hamilton, and understands that two suspects are in custody. The victim continues to be treated for his injuries, and the Minister extended her thoughts to the young teen’s family.

Minister Ming also expressed concern for the bystanders of the incident, noting that she “appreciates that yesterday’s tragedy and subsequent arrests must have been a traumatic experience for all who witnessed the events”.

The Minister urged anyone who may have any information to share what they know with the Police by calling 247-1744 or, the main police number, 295-0011.
