Temporary Changes To Post Office Hours
During the week of March 1st, there will be changes to the opening hours at Post Offices to “facilitate a series of staff meetings to discuss upgrades of various systems and processes.”
A Government spokesperson said, “The Bermuda Post Office [BPO] is advising the public that during the week of March 1st 2021 there will be minor changes to the opening hours of the General Post Office and specific Sub Post Offices.
“The time adjustments are in order to facilitate a series of staff meetings to discuss upgrades of various systems and processes.
- “On Monday March 1st 2021 ~ Eastern Sub Post Offices in Devonshire, Flatts, Crawl and St. George’s will open from 10:00am to 4:00pm.
- “On Tuesday March 2nd 2021 ~Western Sub Post Offices in Warwick, Southampton and Mangrove Bay will open from 10:00am to 4:00pm.
- “On Wednesday March 3rd 2021 ~ The General Post Office in Hamilton will open from 9:30am to 4:30pm.
“The BPO thanks the public for their understanding and cooperation, and apologizes for any inconvenience caused.”
So the sub Post Offices will be open 10 – 4, but will they maintain the lunch closure between 1 and 2.15? Not that the reduced hours will make much difference anyway, the mail is so slow you have to wonder what the staff do during the day. Full pay on reduced hours. The Private Sector can’t match that yet pay the taxes so the PO staff (and similar) can.
I never hear of Masters or Gorham’s or The Marketplace or The Supermart closing for staff meetings. Why is that Postal Service or bus service or education ceases every time there is a staff meeting?
