Container Ship Diverts Due To Sick Crew Member

The container ship Lars Maersk diverted to Bermuda to disembark a crew member who suffered a suspected heart attack.

A Bermuda Maritime Operations Centre spokesperson said, “Tuesday 2nd March, 7:20 am – The Danish Registered container ship, LARS MAERSK, located 470 miles East of Bermuda, on passage from Morocco to New York, contacted RCC Denmark regarding a crew member who had suffered a suspected heart attack.

“After receiving medical advice, the ship diverted to Bermuda to disembark the crew member. At 10:30 on Wednesday 3rd March the patient was transferred to the pilot / rescue boat St. George for onward transportation to hospital.”
