April 19, 2021

The police said they continue to “address reported breaches of Covid-19 regulations,” with the latest incidents occurring in Devonshire and St. George’s.

A police spokesperson said, “The Bermuda Police Service [BPS] continues to address reported breaches of Covid-19 regulations. One of the latest incidents was in Devonshire, while another was in St. George’s.

“Around 5:40pm Friday, April 16th police officers responded to the Cedar Park Road, Devonshire area after receiving information of several people gathered at that location.

“On arrival some individuals began to immediately disperse. Details of other neighbourhood residents that remained were recorded by BPS officers.

“Around 4pm Saturday, April 17th police officers responded to a Turkey Hill, St. George’s home after receiving information suggesting that a party was taking place there.

“On arrival people were seen leaving the residence, while others on the porch quickly went inside.

“Likewise, details of individuals and vehicles at that location were recorded by BPS officers. Court summonses for both reported breaches are anticipated in due course.

“Assistant Commissioner of Police Martin Weekes reminded members of the public that the current Stay at Home Regulations remain in place until 5am Tuesday, April 20th.

“Once again, please be mindful that the adjustments to the existing regulations do not come into effect until 5am Tuesday, April 20th. However, even with those changes, mixing of households will remain prohibited. It is also important to note that as of 5am Tuesday, curfew hours will be 8pm until 6am every day, until further notice.”

So have we wrapped up the Horticultural Hall investigation? We need to know names of the people attending all these functions after all our lives might depend on it and they should be charged with reckless endangerment of others. So if we track a fatality to one of these “parties” could manslaughter charges not be laid?
