DYAN Art Auction To Benefit Family Centre
Artist Diane Maughan, also known as DYAN, will be auctioning two original paintings, with the proceeds to benefit the Family Centre.
A spokesperson said, “Artist Diane Maughan, known in the art world as DYAN, knew she wanted to help children and families in need. According to the artist, the pandemic has deeply affected children and families worldwide, leading to feelings of anxiety, isolation, and uncertainty.
“She is inviting the community to bid on two one-of-a-kind acrylic paintings, with all proceeds going to Family Centre.”
Mrs. Maughan said, “It is important to me personally to give back to the community. I want to use my art to help children and families in Bermuda.”
The spokesperson said, “She has selected Family Centre as the charity to receive the proceeds from two original paintings she will be auctioning during the month of April. They are acrylic paintings, 16” x 20” on canvas. The bidding will start at $250.00 each.

“Artist’s description: The Giant White Bird of Paradise [Strelitzia nicolai] can grow to over 6 feet tall and grows in various places in Bermuda. A huge dramatic bloom emerges throughout the huge, towering leaves.

“Artist’s description: A mother knows and feels the deep love she has within her for her child, hoping and praying that with Faith and nurturing the child will become a wonderful healthy, happy and wise adult.

Family Centre Executive Director Dr. Sandy De Silva said, “Family Centre is thrilled to be a recipient of the proceeds from DYAN’s lovely works of art. The paintings are truly beautiful, and we are proud to have been selected by Diane to receive the funds from the auction of these lovely works of art.”
The spokesperson said, “Funds received from the sale of the two original pieces of acrylic art will go towards Family Centre therapeutic programmes and services for vulnerable children and families in Bermuda.
“DYAN has been painting from the age of ten. She won her first art award from Brooke Bond Tea Company at age 11. She has won art awards in the United Kingdom, USA, and Bermuda.”
Mrs. Maughan said, “Painting brings me enormous pleasure; it is relaxing, therapeutic and embracing.”
The spokesperson said, “She is a portrait, landscape, floral and mural artist. Her work can be found in all mediums and all surfaces. DYAN does exhibit and sell her work in various local galleries and privately in Bermuda and internationally.
