Liberty & Take Five Donate 500 Easter Meals
On April 1st, Take Five Ltd [TFL] collaborated with Liberty Specialty Markets Bermuda to donate five hundred meals to families across the island for the Easter Holiday.
“The meal donation is part of TFL’s pledge to donate 2,000 meals in 2021 to families in need. Each quarter TFL with partners such as Liberty Specialty Markets Bermuda, will donate 500 meals to the Seventh Day Adventist Church for further distribution to families and individuals across the island,” a spokesperson explained.
“For this quarter, the sole contributor was Liberty Specialty Markets Bermuda. The contribution made it possible for TFL to begin its pledge despite the recent challenges and Covid-19 related restrictions.”
Steve Horton the President of Liberty Specialty Markets Bermuda said: “Since the start of the pandemic, the demand for food programs has increased due to the difficult financial situations many families have been faced with.
“We are happy to help the community once again during these unprecedented times. One of Liberty’s core values is to put people first and we are committed to keep supporting feeding programs and continue to assist the community in every way that we can.”
“The aim is to keep providing these meals each quarter. TFL is still looking for partners to complete the Summer, Fall and Winter quarter,” Holger Eiselt, the CEO of Take Five said.
“When we started this program in December my team and I just wanted to help others. We acknowledge that people are in need all year round not just Christmas, and we wanted to support the charities on the front lines, so they are not overburdened. We aim to continue our pledge for the remainder of this year, but we cannot do this alone, so help is always welcome.”
In addition to the 2021 meal pledge Take Five Ltd periodically supports the Eliza DoLittle Society, Meals on Wheels and Daily Bread and provides weekly meals to the Church without Walls.
Thank you Take Five.
Thank you Liberty and Take Five.
An excellent example of paying attention to the impact of a growing population of community members who are food insecure in Bermuda.
We are learning so much about how we are connected, who is at risk and who is suffering.
Food Security, Housing and Healthcare are prioirities for us all.
