East End Ferry To Leave Hamilton At 6pm

April 9, 2021

There will be a special east end ferry service to assist people “who have been inconvenienced due to this afternoon’s bus service interruption,’ with the ferry scheduled to leave Hamilton at 6pm today [April 9] and arrive in St. George’s at 6.45pm.

This follows after the Government advised at around 2pm today that there will be an interruption bus service to “facilitate Covid-19 testing for DPT employees,” with service suspended at 3.00pm and “expected to resume by 7.00 pm this evening.”

A Government spokesperson said, “The Department of Marine and Ports is advising that a special east end ferry service is being provided this afternoon to assist commuters who are seeking an alternative public transport route to St. George’s.

“The special ferry is scheduled to leave Hamilton at 6.00 p.m. today and will arrive at Hunter’s Wharf, St. George’s at 6.45 p.m.

“This supplemental ferry service is for today only, and is aimed at helping commuters who have been inconvenienced due to this afternoon’s bus service interruption.

“Once again the Ministry of Transport takes this opportunity to apologise for the inconvenienced caused, and thanks the public for their patience and understanding.”

Great. Can they drop me off at Flatts. I don’t need to go all the way into St. George’s.

Took the bus into work this morning with no indication at all that there would be a work stoppage. Thanks guys.
