Video: Happy Earth Day From Family Centre
The Family Centre is sharing their Earth Day video with the community and encouraging people on the island “to engage in healthy green activities with their children and families.”
A spokesperson said, “Family Centre joins Greenrock and other environmentally conscious organizations to be good stewards of the environment. The charity, Family Centre, is sharing their Earth Day video with the community and is encouraging Bermuda to engage in healthy green activities with their children and families where they can.”
Family Centre’s Executive Director, Dr. Sandy De Silva, said, “Although Family Centre’s focus is on the therapeutic care of our children and their families, we also want to be an environmentally responsible organization.
“We feel a responsibility to improve our carbon footprint and contribute to sustainable living on our beautiful island. Some of our efforts include composting and reduction of single-use plastics.
“Thanks to Unity Edible Landscaping & Agriculture, we have edible gardening all around us at the Sunshine League House. There have been many meals prepared from our garden and shared with families in need.
“Thanks to BE Solar, who installed our solar panels, we have decreased our usage of fossil fuel electricity. We are grateful to BE Solar, who understood our desire to be environmentally friendly and fiscally responsible and has worked with us to achieve our desire for green energy.
“Family Centre joins with the rest of the world in wishing everyone a Happy Earth Day.”
