Bermuda Archers Conclude Competing In Florida
Bernard Wade III and Jaydon Roberts concluded competing in the USAT #2 Easton Foundations Gator Cup 2021 in Newberry, Florida.
Both archers advanced to the elimination round.
Wade III competed in the Recurve Men’s Division Round of 32, he advanced after he defeated Bruce Hicks 6 – 5, Wade III, then went down in the round of 16 falling 6 – 4 to Jacob Wukie.
Roberts competing in the Recurve Cadet Division also advanced in the round of 32, defeating Harrison Hong 4 – 0. During the round of 16, Roberts was edged 6 – 5 by Andrew Yoo.
Roberts said, “This was my second year competing in this competition at 60 meters. There was some strong competition from around the world and overall I am pleased with my placement. Even though I was knocked out in the 1/16th elimination round, I battled through and the point differences were close. This event along with many others I will compete in this year will prepare me for the upcoming CAC qualifier in October.”
