PLP Extends Condolences To Seymour Family

May 24, 2021

The Progressive Labour Party expressed their condolences to the family of Mr. Walter Seymour.

A spokesperson said, “The Progressive Labour Party is immensely saddened by the passing of one of our oldest members Mr. Walter Seymour.

“A founding member of Bermuda Provident Bank, Mr. Seymour was committed to the development and progression of black people in places and positions previously not possible. He was also an active member of Vernon Temple AME church. He was also a staunch member of the PLP.

MP Zane DeSilva recalled, when speaking at his funeral, said: “I don’t have time to tell you about many of the things we discussed, but after I gave him my history, my family’s history, what I was about, what I was going to do politically, whether elected or not – Walter promised me his vote AND he was one of my nominators to actually run in my very first election in 2007.”

“MP DeSilva and Mr. Seymour continued this close relationship until his passing,” the PLP added.

“The PLP thanks Mr. Seymour for his unwavering support over the years. We extend our deepest condolences to his wife, Elveira and his entire family. May the memories sustain you through this difficult time.“
