3 New Cases, 9 Active, 1 In Hospital, 0 In ICU
The Ministry received 5021 test results since the last update, and three were positive — all classified as imported and resulting from testing done on Thursday, Friday and Saturday — and there are now 9 active cases.
A Government spokesperson said, “The Ministry of Health received 5021 test results since the last update, and three [3] were positive for Covid-19. This gives a test positivity rate of 0.05%.
“These results are from testing done on Thursday [3 positive out of 2269 results [0.1% positivity]], Friday [0 positive out of 1370 results [0% positivity]] and Saturday [0 positive out of 1382 results [0% positivity]].
“All three of the new cases are classified as imported. One was a resident who arrived on Jet Blue B6203 from Boston on 3 June, 2021 and tested positive on their arrival test. Two were residents who arrived on Jet Blue B61731 from New York on 3 June, 2021 and tested positive on their arrival test.
“Additionally, there were four [4] recoveries and no deaths.
“There are currently nine [9] active cases, of which;
- Eight [8] are under public health monitoring and;
- One [1] in the hospital, with none in intensive care.
“Since March 2020, Bermuda has recorded 2497 total confirmed cases of Covid-19; out of those, 2455 persons have recovered, and sadly, 33 Covid related deaths.
“The source of all cases is as follows:
- 308 are Imported
- 2183 are classified as local transmission of which:
- 1681 are Local Transmission with known contact/source and
- 502 are Local Transmission with an unknown contact/source
- 6 are Under Investigation
“For information regarding age distributions, please refer to https://www.gov.bm/coronavirus-Covid19-update. As investigations proceed, transmission categories may change. The seven-day average of our real-time reproduction number is less than one [1]. Bermuda’s current WHO country status remains “Community Transmission.”
“Travellers scheduled for Covid testing at Perot Post Office must arrive at the time of their scheduled appointment,” reminded Minister of Health, Kim Wilson, JP, MP. “If you do not come at the appointment time, it creates delays and long lines. If you need to change your scheduled time, call the Covid 19 HOTLINE Center on 444-2498.”
“This week our Close to Home mobile vaccination programme will be at the following locations:
- Tuesday, June 8, Penno’s Wharf in St. George’s from 10 am until 2 pm,
- Thursday, June 10, at the Fairmont Southampton from 10 am until 2 pm
- Saturday, June 13, at TCD in Hamilton from 10 am until 2 pm.
“These neighbourhood sites are for people who have not yet registered for the Covid-19 vaccine, do not have access to the internet, and prefer to register in person or have additional questions about the Covid-19 vaccine. There will be doctors on site to answer any questions you have, and you don’t need an appointment. You can just show up and roll up your sleeve.”
“We recommend the Close to Home mobile programme as an ideal opportunity to learn more for those people who want to hear about the Covid-19 vaccine from a trusted source. A free mini-bus service is available to take people from their homes to the mobile vaccination sites and back to their homes afterwards. Call 533-5903 between 10.00 am and 1.30 pm if you need a ride to one of the mobile vaccination sites.”
“Residents who have been immunized overseas and want to get a Bermuda Government Vaccine Certificate should email vaccine@gov.bm. They must provide proof of their vaccination, including date[s], vaccine type and vaccination centre.”
“Bermuda’s progress in keeping our Covid-19 cases down is what will get us through the summer with fewer restrictions,” added Minister Wilson. “As we are cautiously re-opening, we must all act responsibly.”
“Each of us has a role to play in stopping the spread of the coronavirus. Follow Public Health guidelines, wear a mask, practice good hand hygiene, maintain physical distance and download the WeHealthBermuda app. Do the research, talk with your doctor and make an informed decision about getting the Covid-19 vaccine.”

No mention of the “positive” on BA on Thursday that was brought into the court case on Friday? Is Government being that deceitful, or committing perjury? Hard to take any information as truthful now. Maybe it is all a sham. Just open up Phase 4 and ditch all restrictions.
“We had to deceive you.”
So hold up let me get this, Thursdays June 3rd results are 3. So why does the calendar say none on June 3rd and 3 today? Seems like the actual results are 4 days late. Correct me if I’m wrong or is this just a numbers game. Also another point, if you have been near a close contact they don’t test you again until day 14. This too will affect the numbers since you could contract it 2 to 5 days after initial contact and cdc says it can last 10 days or so in your system. So lets say you are positive on day 5 (dont get tested) then you get tested on day 14 and turns up positive. Bingo, you have to do another 14 days in quarantine when in effect could be clear on day 15 or so. This is the reason why we are having quite a few positives on day 14.
For the additional vaccination sites listed, it would be helpful to clarify if the June 10 & 13 dates are for Astra Zeneca, or the 2nd dose of Pfizer, since the last, first dose of Pfizer is the 8th, or at least we have been told this.
What about the Indian variant case they talked about in court? If they have “forgotten” to include that one, how can we trust everything else they have told us? Or were they lying in court?
And people are not turning up at Perot for tests … isn’t that the facility testing air passengers?
How about telling them : “if you do not turn up on time for your test, we will change the time for you, but it will cost $300”?
