BPS Commend Attendees For Peaceful Manner

June 30, 2021

The Bermuda Police Service said they wish to “commend those members of the public who participated in yesterday’s protest rally at the Cabinet Office, for the peaceful manner in which they conducted themselves.”

Chief Inspector Alex Rollin – Community Policing Division, said: “ The organisers were in constant contact with the Bermuda Police Service in the lead-up to yesterday’s event.

“They kept us abreast of what their plans were for the day and assured us there would be neither encouragement nor tolerance of any illegal activity or untoward behaviour.

“The rally passed without incident and the police presence at the Cabinet Office Grounds was therefore kept at a minimum, with officers engaging only in crowd control duties.”

“As we have stated in the past the BPS supports peaceful protest, as long as such protest is done within the confines of the law.”

Nice to see a peaceful demonstration….I guess we know who wasn’t behind the scenes arranging it.

Bunch of nutcases, but at least they were polite about it.
    Ignore them.

They are protesting against policy. Your hateful a$$ comments are at people. Shame on you .

      • Question says:

No, shame on them. They say they are for freedoms to choose, but their List of Demands includes several things that stop everyone else from exerting their freedom to choose. They only want people to choose things they approve of, in other words.
For example they want to ‘end PCR testing’ and ‘prohibit vaccines for people under 18’.
They pretend they want freedom to choose, but they just want to impose their preferences on other people.

I am glad that the protest went peacefully, but what does it mean for us when the Bermuda Police Service feels it necessary to “commend those members of the public who participated in yesterday’s protest rally” for obeying the law?

Is Bermuda really so lawless that people now deserve commendation for obeying the law for a change?
