Deloitte Open: Tennis & Pickleball Tournament
Pickleball is set to make its official tournament debut at the 2021 Deloitte Open in July, as the annual tournament will combine tennis and pickleball events for the first time.
A spokesperson said, “The sport, which is one of the fastest growing in the US, is rapidly becoming adopted by locals looking to stay active. Incorporating many elements of tennis, badminton and ping-pong, the sport has been a big hit locally and has many players that are anxious to make their competitive debuts.
“The annual tournament, which will combine tennis and pickleball events for the first time, will run from July 2 – 9. Sponsored by Deloitte after a pandemic induced one-year hiatus, the event has grown to become a player-favorite on the tennis calendar in Bermuda, attracting participants to establish, defend or improve their ranking. Hosted at Pomander Gate Tennis Club, the tennis events will be sanctioned by the Bermuda Lawn Tennis Association and will offer valuable ranking points.”

Matches will be played daily from 5:30 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. on weekday evenings and from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. at the weekend.

- Men Senior Doubles
