Aeziah Divine Climbs To Top 5 In England
Aeziah Divine had an impressive performance during the round three of the FAB-Racing Minibike British Championship this weekend, with the Bermudian junior road racer ranking 5th in the Metrakit MiniGP 50 class.
A spokesperson said, “Bermudian junior road racer, Aeziah Divine, competed in Round 3 of the FAB-Racing Minibike British Championship at Red Lodge Karting, Suffolk this weekend.
“At the weekend Divine achieved his best results so far in the championship where he competes in the Metrakit MiniGP 50 class. The three-day race weekend included free practice on Friday, qualifying [Q1 and Q2] and Race 1 on Saturday, and Race 2 and 3 on Sunday. The events are live-streamed on FAB-Racing’s Facebook page.
“Divine qualified P6 for the starting grid and had strong starts across all races over the weekend. He had consistent top 5 finishes with two 5th place finishes and a 4th.”
“I achieved my goal of getting up to top five, but it wasn’t easy as there are fast riders in the 50 class. For the rest of the season, I am focusing on closing the gap to the riders at the front,” he said.
11-year-old Divine is in his second season in the series after moving to England in 2018 to pursue his racing career. He began racing with the Bermuda Motorcycle Racing Association [BMRA] in 2016, won the Minibike Junior championship the following year, and was the recipient of the National Junior Athlete Sponsorship Programme in 2019.
Divine is backed by predominantly Bermuda-based companies and has used this support to showcase his skill and potential while representing Bermuda at the junior national level of road racing in England. This season, he has joined MDM-R Racing Team alongside two riders in FAB-Racing’s Metrakit MiniGP 70 class and two riders in Cuna de Campeones in Spain.
