BFA: 11 Members Of Delegation In Quarantine

July 13, 2021

Upon the football team’s arrival back to Bermuda “eleven members of the delegation were required to quarantine at a Bermuda Government approved hotel for 14 days due to not being fully immunized” and “one member of the delegation who is currently in the Government quarantine hotel has tested positive,” the BFA has confirmed.

A statement from the Bermuda Football Association [BFA] said, “The Bermuda Senior Men’s National Team [SMNT] returned to Bermuda on Friday, July 9th, after being eliminated from the Concacaf Gold Cup Preliminary Round. The SMNT was subjected to strict health and safety protocols while overseas with everyone testing negative.

“Upon arrival back to Bermuda, eleven members of the delegation were required to quarantine at a Bermuda Government approved hotel for 14 days due to not being fully immunized. One member has since been fully immunized and was released early.

“The BFA can confirm that one member of the delegation who is currently in the Government quarantine hotel has tested positive. Close contacts of the positive case have been advised to quarantine for 14 days and will be released after their negative day 14 test.

“The other immunized members of the delegation have all been advised to exercise extreme caution until their day 14 negative test.”

I hope they all paid their own quarantine hotel bills and not the tax payer who probably paid for their trip in the first place. Not a chance in hell of that happening

    • Agree says:

Good one, now which hotel, so Iknow where not to book.

  2. Honestly says:

    What is your point?

  3. Jane says:

Please advise who is funding the hotel bill? Players or tax payers?

  4. Joe Bloggs says:

Why not name the players? The PLP Government named Sophie Cannonier and Mike Watson!

    • Sam says:

The BFA are a joke, this mess and a 4-1 thumping. Well done. Well done.

Who is footing the bill for this??

11 of the group not vaccinated!,
Outrageous and selfish, and we pay for it.
My support for this lot is long gone!

  7. Triangle Drifter says:

The insanity continues. No vaccine, no travel at taxpayers expense should be the rule.

The team taking licks, as usual, adds insult to injury.

  8. Question says:

Are they paying for this themselves, or are ordinary working people’s taxes being used to pay for this madness? Are they too stupid to get vaccines?

  9. John byby says:

It has been stated couple weeks ago, that government will pay the Quarantine bill for all players.

  10. Another 59,000 of our money says:

More if our taxes gone!!! Enough of this stupidity let them stay at Casemates if they are that stupid!!!
