Cricket: Warwick Win Western County 1st Round
At the White Hill Field in the First Round of the Western County Cup competition this weekend, Warwick Workmen’s Club held onto the trophy following their 125 run victory over the Somerset Bridge.
Warwick won the toss and elected to bat, they scored 3119 in their allotted 50 overs, guest player Alje Richardson was the top scorer with 79 off 58 balls, he hit 8 fours and 4 sixes, captain Dominic Sabir added 49. Noel Woods was the pick of the Somerset Bridge bowler’s with figures of 10-1-33-3.
In reply Somerset Bridge were bowled out for 186, captain Adrian Burrows was the top scorer with 37, while Da-Von Wade added 34, with figures of 6-0-21-3 guest player Jaden Manders led the bowling attack.
