Gold Cup Prelims: Bermuda Tops Scoring Table
The current top scorers chart for the 2021 Gold Cup Preliminaries shows Nahki Wells as the top scorer with three goals, while Reggie Lambe, Dante Leverock, Kane Crichlow and Zeiko Lewis are also ranked in the top ten, meaning Bermuda has the impressive distinction of accounting for 50% of the top ten ranked scorers.
This follows after Bermuda defeated Barbados by a score of 8-1, with the match seeing Bermuda score the fastest goal in Gold Cup history, while the match also tied the Gold Cup record for most goals in a match with 9 goals in total.

Twelve teams were scheduled to compete in the Preliminary Round, which is taking place from July 2-6 in Florida, with three teams set to advance to the Gold Cup Group Stage.
So far, St Vincent, Monserrat, Barbados, Guyana and the Bahamas have been eliminated, and Cuba was scheduled to take part in the preliminaries however was unable to take part due to “Covid-19 related travel and visa challenges.”
Bermuda — having advanced due to the win over Barbados — will play Haiti this coming Tuesday.
