Mask Guidance For Child Daycare Facilities
“The mask guidance for daycare facilities was inadvertently changed on the portal,” the Ministry of Health said, adding that “the mask guidance for child daycare facilities has been updated.”
A Government spokesperson said, “The Ministry of Health advises the public that the mask guidance for child daycare facilities has been updated on the Government portal.
“The mask guidance for daycare facilities was inadvertently changed on the portal while making other related guidance updates. However, the mask guidance for daycare facilities has not changed, and the webpage has been updated accordingly.”
“The current mask guidance for daycare is available here: https://www.gov.bm/Covid-19-guidance-child-day-care-centres-and-child-day-care-providers.
“As a reminder,
- “Face coverings/masks are not recommended for young children and should not be worn by children under 2 years of age.
- “Children in daycare facilities are not required to wear masks. Mask wearing is for school-aged children only.
- “According to the World Health Organisation: “Children aged 5 years and under should not be required to wear masks. This is based on the safety and overall interest of the child and the capacity to appropriately use a mask with minimal assistance.” [ref. WHO 21 Aug. 2020]“
