RA Opens Public Consultation On IRP Guidance

July 16, 2021

The Regulatory Authority is inviting the public to provide feedback on its proposed IRP Guidance document.

The RA said, “The Regulatory Authority of Bermuda [the RA] is inviting the public and other interested parties to comment on its proposed IRP Guidance document, regarding what electricity generating technologies should be included and/or excluded in the Integrated Resource Plan [IRP] Proposal, as well as types of fuels that can be used in generating electricity, demand side resources, time frames, outputs and any other aspects of the assumptions for the IRP. The IRP is Bermuda’s energy plan for the next 20 years.

“Suggestions from the public consultation may provide alternatives for an electricity generation mix which are consistent with the purposes of the Electricity Act 2016, e.g., safe, sustainable and reliable supply of electricity, and promote the use of cleaner energy sources and technologies.

“To provide feedback on the proposed IRP Guidance document, please email consultation@ra.bm with the subject line “IRP Guidance” on or before 11:59 p.m. on August 8, 2021.”
