Video: Coach On Victory & Match Against Haiti
“It was a good job by our team,” Bermuda national football coach Kyle Lightbourne said following the Gombey Warriors 8 – 1 victory over Barbados, with Coach Lightbourne adding that “we know it’s going to be a tougher test against Haiti.”
Coach Lightbourne said, “We have some players that haven’t played in a while, so they got some minutes under their legs, so they will be better for it. We’ll be a little bit better come Tuesday, a little sharper. So the next game is going to be tougher.”
When asked about the strengths of the Haitian national team, the Coach said, “The strengths of the Haitian national team, their three forwards, they all can score. They’re strong, they’re powerful, they’re athletic. They play to a system similar to how we look to play. They move the ball around, they create spaces and try and suck you in, and get the ball in those half spaces and across the face of the goal. And they’re good on set pieces as well, so technically some good players.”
Bermuda is set to take on Haiti on Tuesday, July 7th, the match should be on television and also hopefully streamed online and Bernews will provide live updates of the match on Tuesday evening.
