Appleby Awards 2021 Scholarships & Bursaries
Appleby’s Bermuda office has awarded education scholarships and bursaries to Briana Medeiros, Egypt Cann, Milaun Perott, and Jada Rogers-Ingemann.
A spokesperson said, “Appleby’s Bermuda office is pleased to award four education scholarships and bursaries in 2021. The firm has been providing scholarships and bursaries for over 40 years to qualified Bermudian applicants based on academic performance, community involvement and extracurricular activities.
Briana Medeiros, Egypt Cann, Milaun Perott, and Jada Rogers-Ingemann:
“The Legal Education Scholarship is an annual scholarship for a Bermudian student studying law who plans to return to Bermuda to practice. The student also has the option to apply for summer internship opportunities.
“This year’s Legal Education Scholarship [valued at $30,000] is awarded to Milaun Perott. Milaun will be attending The University of Law [London] in September, starting her Graduate Diploma of Law. Milaun attended Saltus Grammer School and then completed a Bachelor of Commerce degree [Majoring in Law & Business, Minoring in Economics] at Ryerson University.
“The Appleby/Berkeley Institute Scholarship is an annual scholarship [with the possibility for renewal for a second year] for current graduating students of The Berkeley Institute.
“This year’s Appleby/Berkeley Institute Scholarship [valued at $20,000] is awarded to Egypt Cann.
“Egypt will be pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from Temple University’s Fox School of Business, majoring in Human Resource Management.
“Education Bursaries are annual bursaries for Bermudian students studying at university who have the intention to return to Bermuda. They will also have the option to apply for summer internship opportunities.
“This year’s Education Bursaries [valued at $10,000 each] are awarded to Briana Medeiros and Jada Rogers-Ingemann.
“Briana will be attending University of Toronto in September, continuing her studies in Forensic Science;
“Jada will be attending University of Kent in September, starting her LLB.
“Our scholarship and bursary recipients have the opportunity to gain valuable work experience as summer interns. This year, 2020 recipient Anthony Howell will join as an intern.”
